I attended the opening of Mulberry's first Asian Flagship Store here in Singapore a few days back and I must say it was a magical night! Met a ton of people in the fashion industry -  from Vogue editors coming from all over the Asia Pacific to Ms. Lana del Rey and of course VIPs of Mulberry such as the label's esteemed Creative Director - Ms. Emma Hill.

There were a ton of ecstatic fasioneistas[myself included] in the house, celebrating the fact that finally Mulberry has acknowledged the potential of the Asian market and opened a flagship store that would carry more than just bags and SLGs, but RTW and shoes as well. Of course I didn't miss the chance to dress myself up for the event in one of Mulberry'sFW2012 pieces.

a.Fasione's Shopping Round Up # 21: GIVENCHY FW12 PANDORA BAGS

Givenchy is certainly on the rise in the fashion world as we see fashion heavy weights such as Bryanboy & Pelayo profess their love for the label by strutting down in the label's wares every where they go. Well, lucky for us here in Singapore, the label is already well entrenched and I think it is one of the most prolific brands we have that brings haute couture right to your doorstep. For FW12, we see the brand reinventing its key bag designs and I believe you should have seen some of my past posts on the Antigona[CLICK HERE to FIND OUT MORE]. This time around, let's pay homage to my first love - the Pandora. For this season, we see the label adding a ton of texture to their key pieces and it's all in good measure. The result are exquisite, timeless pieces that would be welcome in any bag lover's collection!

This Pandora Bag in gorgeous red is made of ostrich skin with gun metal detailing. Retailing for SGD 7500, it is the only piece here in Singapore - making it one of a kind. Unique, eye catching and exquisite best describes this bag and for the price it commands, why wouldn't it no?

Another bag that caught my eye would be this small Pandora Bag with mink fur in luscious chocolate brown. I loved how supple the leather of the bag is and so does the mink fur. You'd totally just want to hang onto it and hug it! The price tag isn't as bad as that of the latter as this piece will set you back for SGD 2600 only [and this is considering the fact that it has mink on it].

Season's Round Up # 44: MARNI SPRING-SUMMER 2013

My review of Marni’s SS2013 RTW Women’s Collection is coming in late but as they say it’s better late than never. I don’t know why I completely forgot to check out the Marni show, it must be because of the fact that I’ve been so crazy busy. Anyway, on with the show eh?

Checks and grids were predominant on the runway for the label this season. Plaids and sliced dots were amongst the other patterns seen sashaying down the runway, alongside trapeze day coats, a-line skirts and peplum. Obviously, volume was crucial to Castiglioni this season and she’s done it in such a chic and truly Marni fashion. What was interesting to me was how the label portrayed a sense of frigidity yet kept it playful, fun and soft – making perfect spring-summer garbs. I think the other thing that I loved about the collection was how it seemed to evoke a sense of timelessness. The pieces were very now, yet it can work for you regardless of season, age and time. An amazing feat don’t you think?

RAINY DAY NEWS REPORTER

It's been raining quite heavily here in Singapore the past few days and I thought it would be the best time to wear one of the pieces I was able to scrunch up from the Marni at H&M collection. And the end look I must say I loved!

I was teased though that I looked like a field news reporter - as the yellow vest with a hood is somewhat a staple uniform for them during the rainy season back in the Philippines. Nonetheless, I'd say I'm a reporter with flair and panache!

TOTALLY IN LOVE WITH COLLARS

It seems as if since Karl Lagerfeld's standalone collection launched a few season's ago, collar accessories became an instant hit and must haves. And this season is no different. In fact, I think this season, designers are taking it to a whole new level and I am loving it!

Miu Miu FW12 Collar
Miu Miu FW12 Collar

I am in love with the maestro Karl's rendition of collars this season. They're just uber fab - especially that piece in all white with black lace and silver tip. Miu Miu and Marni's attempts are not as bad either. Marni's I think are perfect for winter, whilst Miu Miu created something that will definitely transcend seasons to come. 3.1. Phillip Lim crafted collars that may seem simple, but simplicity is the best form of fashion!

These accessories are perfect as they allow versatility and they are perfect pieces to spruce up outfits. I've been deep in contemplation on which piece to take for this season as the options are as numerous as they are amazing. What about you? Which one are you going to gun for?
