Season's Round Up # 73: LANVIN FALL-WINTER 2013

I am slowly but surely falling in love with Lanvin. The label under Mr. Elbaz's tutelage is soaring each and every season. This FW2013 he created a couture showing that is relevant and can be worn everyday. He took pieces that were high-fashion and paired them with day to day essentials such as strapless dresses with flat shoes. What made me fall in love with the collection is the masculine tailoring - and as someone such as myself who loves to cross the thresholds of men-women clothing - androgynous pieces are drugs to my fashion addiction.

SKYPE IT with ALBER ELBAZ

"Ha! It's divine! Love love love! J'adore!"

This is one of the quirkiest - if not the quirkiest - SS2013 ad I've seen thus far. Definitely fuelling my lust for Lanvin - specially after visiting their newly opened flagship store at Ice House Street in Hong Kong. They even got these quirky trams roaming around the city promoting it. In Alber's words - Love love love! J'adore!

a.Fasione's Shopping Round Up # 21: GIVENCHY FW12 PANDORA BAGS

Givenchy is certainly on the rise in the fashion world as we see fashion heavy weights such as Bryanboy & Pelayo profess their love for the label by strutting down in the label's wares every where they go. Well, lucky for us here in Singapore, the label is already well entrenched and I think it is one of the most prolific brands we have that brings haute couture right to your doorstep. For FW12, we see the brand reinventing its key bag designs and I believe you should have seen some of my past posts on the Antigona[CLICK HERE to FIND OUT MORE]. This time around, let's pay homage to my first love - the Pandora. For this season, we see the label adding a ton of texture to their key pieces and it's all in good measure. The result are exquisite, timeless pieces that would be welcome in any bag lover's collection!

This Pandora Bag in gorgeous red is made of ostrich skin with gun metal detailing. Retailing for SGD 7500, it is the only piece here in Singapore - making it one of a kind. Unique, eye catching and exquisite best describes this bag and for the price it commands, why wouldn't it no?

Another bag that caught my eye would be this small Pandora Bag with mink fur in luscious chocolate brown. I loved how supple the leather of the bag is and so does the mink fur. You'd totally just want to hang onto it and hug it! The price tag isn't as bad as that of the latter as this piece will set you back for SGD 2600 only [and this is considering the fact that it has mink on it].

Season's Round Up # 43: LANVIN SPRING-SUMMER 2013

Lanvin’s SS2013 Women’s RTW Show imbued urban chic, celebrating femme fatale like no other designer has this season. The collection was dark vs. the typical jewel-hued designs we see from the fashion house, and it’s an evolution of sorts for the label and for the designer. We saw a lot of clothes that emphasized the body accented by a monochromatic palette.

What I loved about the collection is the androgyny it possessed. I’m definitely seeing quite a few pieces that I think I can work - such as the box-cut cropped jackets that had a pointed shoulder or even the tuxedo jackets. Squares seem to be a central theme as it’s also seen on the short yet precise dresses that were seen coming out of the runway towards the end of the show. It was an interesting show in all, it seems to herald a new chapter with the Lanvin label and I think the fashion world is waiting with bated breath with how it will all unfold.

LANVIN MISS SARTORIAL BAG

I haven't posted much stuff about Lanvin and of late, I seem to have lost all interest on the brand. But I was pleasantly surprised when I spotted the Lanvin Miss Sartorial bag via Net-a-Porter. It has a very classic tailored look, but still trendy and very much now. The bag is made of "buttery-soft" leather expressed in a neutral palette, which gives it an elegant appeal. The look has a classic contemporary feel to it. The inside of the bag is quite roomy with several compartments that can carry your work essentials, thus making it the perfect workbag. I actually think it combines the elegant minimalism of a Céline Box and an Hermés Kelly. The bag retails for roughly £1,329 [ex taxes and shipping] via Net-a-Porter, so consider it a steal for a timeless piece of high fashion.

LANVIN MEN'S SHOES
Lanvin Suede Desert Boots
Lanvin Suede Desert Boots

With the onslaught of End of Season Sales now heading our way here in Singapore, I've started building my list of a.Must-Haves to watch out for.  First up are men's shoes from Lanvin.  With the myriad of shoes available from France's oldest couture house it's hard to just pick and choose one so I'm featuring several designs which I've fallen head over heels for. First up would be these stunning Desert Suede Boots.  Trimmed in copper patent leather, these Suede Boots are the perfect pair to wear with chinos or even jeans for a relaxed day-out.  The design evokes a calm yet striking presence, which is a known trade mark of Lanvin designs.  It's simple yet stated.  What more can you ask for from a pair of suede boots? They're available online through Mr. Porter for roughly around £350 - depending on delivery.  Will be keeping an eye out for these when I go around the next 2 days for the Club 21 End of Season Sale and keep you posted on how much they are and if they're on sale here in Singapore.

Up next are Lanvin's Leather Oxford Shoes.  I've seen 2 styles, first of which are these in classic black patent.  These Patent Leather Oxfords are perfect for a formal evening out with a sleek tuxedo on.  You can't go wrong with these and you'll surely dress to impress. Mr. Porter will deliver these shoes to you for around £465.

If there's one piece that I'm hoping would be on sale from Lanvin, it would be these amazing Leather Oxford Shoes.  I first spotted these on Mr. Porter and the minute I laid eyes on this handsome leather piece, it was magic.  They evoke timeless and classic male elegance; perfect for either formal or informal wear.  The detail on these shoes - perforated dots and the two-toned brown leather - make it so irresistible and so worth the £530 that you will be shelling out.

For these shoes, I'll definitely keep an eye out for during the Club 21 and upcoming Mr. Porter Founding Members Sale.

Watch out for the other a.Must-Haves that I'll be featuring in the next few days for items you shouldn't miss to own and get!
