Yes, this is a LONG OVER DUE post! It's been months - heck it's been almost a year since I last wrote. And honestly I don't have ante excuse other than the fact that 1) I've been really busy with work and 2) I've been really contemplating on what next to do with aFasione. I've come to a conclusion and I need to do a revamp - inject new life into the blog. Things have change a lot over the past few months and the way I see things, fashion and life have changed as well. And I think a new platform to showcase this perspective is much needed. If you've been following me on Instagram, you'll actually see that I was in London recently and I think one of the biggest things that dawned on me while there is I just need to #lovelife! How apt it is for Celine to come up with the most fabulous shoes to put things into perspective - but yeah I really need to just crack on and love the life I have right now. It's all I've got so what the heck eh? Well more on this new philosophy when I stage aFasione's revamp. Should be out and about quite soon!
As you all know, I am one of the die hard Céline fans ever since LVMH star girl - Phoebe Philo - has taken over the fashion house. And this season, she goes and injects her magic yet again with a collection that lands a whole new layer of freshness, femininity and refinement to the AW2013 collections we've seen thus far.
For AW2013 Ms. Philo has taken the most mundane things and has elevated it to a level of elegance that is as high fashion as it can get. This season we see her craft shapes that are serene and I must say each piece of clothing seems so soft and comfortable. I am dying to own a coat from any of her collection as they evoke a timeless elegance that transcends seasons. Viewing it, you see the thinking behind each piece that sashayed down the runway and all in all it was considered yet oh so effortless. But that being said, it came across as unified - something only Philo is seemingly capable of doing. Love love love!

Taking a break from catching the #NYFW shows, I just wanted to share a recent find during one of my shopping trips. Céline has recently launched a new clutch bag - perfect for evenings out or even for work if I can say so myself - called the Double Flap Clutch.
Available in the Takashimaya Boutique here in Singapore, it's currently available in 2 variations - one in python skin leather in a deep and warm burgundy colour as you see above and the other in a bi-color/material combination dominated by lush pony hair on the front flap with a bright orange hue. I am personally in love with the latter option and for SGD 2100, it's a piece that'll definitely add a touch of glam and bam to your wardrobe. For those looking for a more classic and elegant variation then I'd suggest going for the one in python, which retails for SGD 2700.
Inside, there's so much room to put in essentials - whether you use the first flap pocket to store say an iPad Mini or even evening out necessities. Alternatively you still have the zipped area to put other items you'll need. There are also a sufficient number of card and money slots for you to play with on the other flap side as you can see below.
Gorgeous isn't it? I just love it and I'm thinking of getting one myself. So if you're lusting after these babies, better head on down to Takashimaya [look for Jasmine who'd be the perfect person to assist you] before they get all snatched up by fashion addicts such as myself.
I've noticed that a lot of you have been clamoring for the latest Céline Luggage colors for SS2013. Most of the colors are now out in stores anyhow, but I thought it'd still be good to share what's [was] available. We all know how quick these babies fly off the shelves these days. It's like fasioneistas are prepping for the plague! This season, we'll see a good range of bright and dark hues for both the regular luggage tote and the phantom - orange, flesh, tan, butter, burgundy or rust, navy, slate blue and of course classic black. Just note that not all of these will be available to both designs. There's also a range of leather options to choose from - supple and natural. So sky's the limit!
Apart from that, there's a series of bi-colored options available and here are some of my absolute faves.
By the way, prices are increasing like cray cray for the Luggage so if you don't have one yet, better get one already before it reaches Chanel Flap pricing proportions! Happy shopping fasioneistas!
Phoebe Philo can do no wrong. She just showcased her best collection EVER! Simplicity, which has been key to her success, is at the forefront of her SS2013 RTW Women’s Collection for Céline. The entire collection will appeal to anyone.
It was a collection that is rooted in minimalism – from the color palette to the cuts – in spite of which it demands attention. Color wise it’s all about gray, white and black – with the occasional pop of color via the accessories. One thing that caught everyone’s attention would be the wrapping - tops enveloped at the shoulders mimicking stoles or wraps typically worn as a separate. Apart from that, fabrics were cut in an assortment of lengths and dizzying degrees, which made the monochromatic garbs look interesting and unique. And who can ignore the fur covered footwear? Very fashion forward I must say. It was a confident collection all in all as it showcased Ms. Philo’s strengths as both a designer and as a stylist. She has kept the overall aesthetic coherent and seductive at the same time. Brava I must say!

I think it's pretty obvious that I am a Céline fan ever since Ms. Philo stepped in as the label's Creative Director. I was actually waiting with bated breath for the SS2013 Women's RTW Collection shown at Paris Fashion Week, and as per usual it was brilliant! Well, to add fuel to my ever-growing fanaticism, I dropped by the shop the other day to check out what pieces from the FW12 collection have been left un-snatched by Céline hungry fasioneistas. And lo and behold there is one more jewel that is up for grabs ladies and gents! Check out this simply mouth-watering Phantom Luggage from Céline' FW2012 collection in a deep red suede material retailing for SGD 2900. Beautiful isn't it? It's lined in lamb leather, with the same deep red color and of course, the handle and outer detailing is made of leather too. I was immediately head over heels! And who wouldn't? It looks absolutely stunning! The only caution to this is the fact that it's made of suede, which will stain lighter colored clothing. Otherwise, it's the perfect piece to have and to hold. If I were you, I'd be running down Takashimaya right now to grab it for my very own as it's the only piece left Otherwise, some other fasioneista will be the proud owner of this beautiful baby.
And so it officially begins. FW2012 is underway and this is signaled by the onslaught of excited fashion bloggers and heavyweight insiders prepping their looks for the SS13 shows. And as much as I would love to be in New York, Paris, London or Milan for the shows, unfortunately I'll have to miss out [sob sob]. I'll have to settle on following the shows via live streaming, photos and reviews of those who are actually gonna be there. In spite of the fact, I'm actually quite excited and looking forward to seeing the fashions that will be featured, especially since I felt dismal after seeing SS13 for the men's collections. Well, for now I'll have to settle then on wearing my pre-planned looks for FW12 here in Singapore [ex the heavy coats of course]. It's actually an exciting and challenging task if I think about it. It's a toughie translating FW pieces that are typically heavy on layering and uses warmer fabrics for a country that's baking under the sun almost 90% of the year! Well, I think it's still possible and for that I welcome FW this year with a growl ;)
Ah. Capturing my heart the minute I laid eyes on it would be this gorgeous pair of Céline Loafers. Said to be part of the FW2012 collection [though honest I would think it can be something for SS], these shoes are definitely made for comfort and style. The rich blue is complemented by its hairy texture, giving it a simple, yet luxurious feel. Further, the pop of white gives it a casual flair yet surprisingly it adds to the attractiveness of the design - as if it weren't lucrative enough than it already is. Just love it! Retailing more or less at about SGD 900[pardon me for not remembering the exact price], they're any shoe lovers paradise. It's actually a perfect pair as it's androgyny makes it appealing to both sexes; with sizes available that can accommodate both men and women too. So whether you're a casual loving posh female or a fashion forward male metrosexual, this pair will have you covered. So what do you fasioneistas think? Yay or nay? I say definitely yay!
