SOUL SEARCHING

2 months have passed - literally 2 months - since I've written a blog post. You all must be wondering why the silence and well I've been contemplating about what next to do in my life. Some may call it "quarter life crisis"; I simply call it soul searching. I'm coming at a crossroads - and to a certain extent I guess I've been pondering about my next move. Singapore has been home for about 5 years now and I can't complain about my life here. Amazing isn't enough to capture the life I've led and am leading here. Singapore is a nice little bubble of a city to stay in and I've fallen into a comfortable routine of sorts - to the extent that I feel like I've found "home" - but deep down I've always known that I'm looking for something still. Suffice to say my travels the past few months - Hong Kong and New York of late - have shed some light on where I want to be next or even maybe what I want to do next. And it has been enlightening. So I guess I HAVE been soul searching. Changes to be made all around - even my blog is up for a face-lift in the next few weeks so do watch out for that - and I am ecstatic. Of course you'll have to watch out for my posts on my Hong Kong and New York trips - I've seen so much and had so much fun that it's sad I haven't written on the go. But experiencing the cities and spending time with the people I was with was more important, rather than focusing on what to write about. So, you guys'll have to make do with throwback posts ;)

Anyhow, change is coming - and I am beyond excited! Being impatient is a detriment at this point so I'll have to watch my impulsiveness but I know all these change(s) are for the best and I'll get there. For now - do watch this space!!

THE SAINT LAURENT BOY IS A GIRL

It's no secret that I've been lusting after and obsessing over the recently launched Saint Laurent Paris spring-summer collection. In the next few days you'll probably get bombarded with Saint Laurent related posts - after all I am obsessed so you'll have to bear with me lol. Nonetheless, I myself have been wondering what the fixation I have is all about. Is it the simple yet provocative aesthetic seen across pieces from the collection? Is it the glorious return of the pant suits with tight-fitting silhouettes? Is it the evocative and statement-making accessories and pieces? Well, Slimane best captures it in his recently released campaign [idea], if you will - THE SAINT LAURENT BOY IS A GIRL. It's as simple as that. Saint Laurent's collection brings to life the essence of my sense of fashion - the androgynous look, the blurring of gender lines, the transcendence of it all. Brilliant ain't it? Yes it may be a provocative statement to make but honestly it's a statement that needs to be made. Pure love! Enough said.

MADONNA, RED and THEN SOME

Capping off my Givenchy lust for SS2013 pieces would be another feature on the Abstract Madonna Print. We had an event a few weeks back at work and for the first day, I wanted to make a splash. And a splash I did make - one in a blinding bright red pantsuit ensemble.

Of course that wasn't enough. Being an attention whore myself when it comes to all things fashion, I had to put an exclamation point to this statement by wearing the Givenchy Abstract Madonna Tie in black. To say the least, the look was an instant hit - looks all over. Well, what can I say? I just love the fashion attention ;)

Retailing for around USD 190 from Ssense, I honestly think this is a fashion steal. What more, it makes for a perfect statement tie, which every dashing fashion conscious gent should have in their wardrobe anyhow.

STAR STUDDED

Following on this series of Givenchy SS2013 posts is this gorgeous one of a kind bolero. It was just too beautiful to pass up and the stars around the neck just makes for a damn good statement. What better way than to make a punctuation that I'm a star no? Lol.

Since I already started on the Givenchy posts yesterday, I thought why not do a series of posts on the fierce fashion pieces that's available from the house from their Cruise 2013 and Spring-Summer 2013 collections. First up -

While I was doing one of my window shopping rounds, spotted this gorgeous neoprene long vest with a hood from Givenchy. Though it's a piece that's relatively warm for Singapore weather, I thought it could definitely add instant street cred to any casual outfit - definitely did that for what I was wearing that day. It's honestly a perfect winter to spring piece in places where the weather permits - dare I say perfect for New York. To top the look off, I paired it with this printed satin and leather sneakers that are to die for. It had the right amount of attitude to make this look rock!

a.Fasione’s Shopping Round Up # 24: CELINE DOUBLE FLAP CLUTCH

Taking a break from catching the #NYFW shows, I just wanted to share a recent find during one of my shopping trips. Céline has recently launched a new clutch bag - perfect for evenings out or even for work if I can say so myself - called the Double Flap Clutch.

Available in the Takashimaya Boutique here in Singapore, it's currently available in 2 variations - one in python skin leather in a deep and warm burgundy colour as you see above and the other in a bi-color/material combination dominated by lush pony hair on the front flap with a bright orange hue. I am personally in love with the latter option and for SGD 2100, it's a piece that'll definitely add a touch of glam and bam to your wardrobe. For those looking for a more classic and elegant variation then I'd suggest going for the one in python, which retails for SGD 2700.

Inside, there's so much room to put in essentials - whether you use the first flap pocket to store say an iPad Mini or even evening out necessities. Alternatively you still have the zipped area to put other items you'll need. There are also a sufficient number of card and money slots for you to play with on the other flap side as you can see below.

Gorgeous isn't it? I just love it and I'm thinking of getting one myself. So if you're lusting after these babies, better head on down to Takashimaya [look for Jasmine who'd be the perfect person to assist you] before they get all snatched up by fashion addicts such as myself.

THE PERFECT FLOWER STORM

Prada has released its SS2013 campaign and true to form it is as eccentric and as fabulously elegant as the pieces we saw in the runway a few months back. I just love it!!! It's sheer art and poetry - a refreshing take on the dynamic persona of the modern day female.

This is taking girl and flower power to a whole new level eh? Brava Prada!
