CHANEL N°5 BRAD PITT ADS

I know this ad has taken quite a beating across the globe. People seemed to be put off with the simplistic and seemingly lack lustre ad. Well, of course there's the undecipherable script and scruffy appearance of Brad Pitt. I guess in the first place a lot of people were wondering why Brad Pitt; considering the money he was paid for, people expected something more.

Honestly though I love the poetic feel the ad evokes. From what I’ve seen of Chanel N°5 ads they have been known to emulate 2 things – the fragrance’s character intertwined with the persona of the endorser. Nicole Kidman's was dramatic and opulent; Audrey Tautou's was romantically quirky and effervescent and so on and so forth. With the series of Chanel N°5 Brad Pitt ads, I think that it still does the same thing. Looking at it closely, there is just one message I'm getting out of it [at least in my opinion]Chanel N°5 is deep and timeless regardless.

I guess to each his/her own with this ad. Personally, I loved it. It’s inevitable. Lol. Whatever people say about it - good or bad - believe me Chanel's already gotten the publicity it needs. Almost 6 million views for both ads just about does the trick eh?

THE BEST REFILLABLE PERFUME ATOMIZER EVER

Travalo is one freaking amazing piece of invention. When I buy perfume, I would typically get the largest size simply because it's more economical and it lasts longer. The problem is it's so irritating to lug around all day or worse carry it with you when you travel. One day, in the office, a friend introduced this nifty little device and I must say I just fell in love!

Don't care if this has been around since forever and I just discovered it now but seriously, I am declaring this as a.Must Have! I don't know why it took so long for anyone to invent this give or take the fact that the perfume industry has been around like forever, but seriously Travalo is so useful! So I say every fasioneista shouldn't be caught dead without one! For those interested to purchase one, you can visit Travalo's website and purchase from there as they ship worldwide.

BEAUTY JUNKIE RITUALS

Apart from being a self-confessed shopaholic, I'd have to say my next addiction would have to be being a beauty junkie. Well this is driven by years of suffering from bad skin and acne during my youth. And now, I'm just uber addicted to the fact that I have to keep my skin absolutely flawless! Going around Sephora and a few other beauty counters the other day, I think I've found my latest fix. Well, I've been an SKII user for about 4 years now - basically since I moved here to Singapore. It has been a part of my beauty ritual and I honestly can't live with out the Miracle Water. It's only a couple of years back that I started using moisturisers and what have you's since I've always thought they made my skin oily. Well not anymore. Apparently, moisturisers help regulate sebum production so you do need it to make sure your skin won't over compensate. Since then I've been using various SKII moisturisers namely the products you see above. And now, going back to the topic at hand, I tried the latest from Shu Uemura called Tsuya.

I just thought it was an interesting product specially after they gave me a 5 day free trial pack. I just fell in love with the feel and smell of the product [don't judge me! In spite being a marketer myself, I was sold to the sensorials of the product!]. The product claims to restore youthfulness in 7 days - focusing on improving skin tone, smoothness, porelessness [yes I need this!!], translucence, texture and skin colour - so we'll see how it goes in the coming days. For now I'll enjoy this new product and use it like the beauty junkie that I am!

I was just going through my photos from my Seoul trip and I couldn't help but laugh at the thought that I carry so much stuff around - skin care package alone! Check out the stash of products that I have to have with me whenever I travel. Skin care is an absolute must wherever I may be! You can never be too sure so I think it's always better to be sure by taking extra good care of my skin as the stress and rigor of traveling can appear as worries on your skin. Cleanse - tone - moisturize - moisturize and double moisturize! And we can't forget about prep, treat and refresh/rejuvenate!

You wouldn't want worry and stress to appear on your face would you? Specially if you have picture perfect moments to think about! So what about you, what's your care regimen like?

DIOR HOMME: LA COLLECTION des COLOGNE

I am not that much of a fan of men's perfumes or colognes as I typically find them too strong and musky but I was pleasantly surprised with the Dior Homme: La Collection des Cologne, now available for the first time in Asia in Singapore's very own Dior Homme shop at Marina Bay Sands. Available here in 5 scents, my fave of the lot would be the Bois D'Argent and Vetiver scents which were subtle, yet intoxicatingly seductive. I think wearing either of the two scents will give any guy that sense of accomplishment and power - allowing you to reach for the stars. Ambre Nuit is not a bad option either as it brings an elegant story characterized by oriental notes with a facet of masculinity in a woody rose scent . The pack itself is very elegant much like Dior Homme's couture style - simple crystal cylindrical transparent bottles topped with the brand's staple color of black and symmetrical line design. I also had fun playing with the magnetic enclosure the cap had - a unique experience in perfume dare I say.

Available in 3 sizes, you can grab them at the MBS Dior Homme shop in 125ml [SGD 280], 250ml [SGD 420] or 450ml [SGD620]. Time for a change of scent? Intoxicate yourself with this amazing line!

PRADA CANDY

Prada Candy Print Campaign

Prada launches its latest fragrance - Prada Candy. I haven't had the chance to take a whiff of this new fragrance, but from the description shared it's suppose to imbibe the idea of excessiveness. It's sheer indulgence in excesses of silky and powdery musks, the intoxicating sweetness of vanilla-scented honey and the femininity and addictiveness of caramel. Just describing it makes me want to crave for more! The print ad is as enticing and alluring as how the brand describes the parfum; and the TV ad is as exhilarating as well. The idea revolves around the Apache dance, a dance performed in 30's Paris by hoodlums.  It's a rough, but beautiful dance played by the impulsive heroine who loses control of her desires for her hot piano teacher [who wouldn't, even I would if he was my piano teacher!].

It seems as if the parfum was designed to empower women - to show that women can lead as much as men - as an end desire and benefit of using this uniquely excessive parfum. That said, I am so heading down to Prada this weekend to check it out. If it delivers on its promise [both from a fragrance and emotional perspective], then it's well worth the trip and change in perfume!
