Season's Round Up # 19: REBECCA MINKOFF SPRING-SUMMER 2013
SS13 this year has evolved from the colorful, bright hues and vivid patterns as indicated by the men’s collection that was launched a few months back. Maybe this is just to bring something new and refreshing to the foray given that for the past few seasons of spring and summer, this has been the norm. Well, call me a sucker for the norm but if it’s SS I expect nothing but colors and patterns all season long. That said, thank God for Rebecca Minkoff’sSS13 RTW Women’s Collection! I’m sure most of the fashion world is already bored of patterns and brightly lit hues but I’m certainly not - and this brand seems to be on the same page. Minkoff’s designs are sticking out like a “cast with lots and lots of signatures” due to the multitude of prints well-layered with white throughout her collection. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not as if they’re bad and in need of bandaging; it’s just that it’s distinct from what we’ve seen so far and I’m loving it. Water-color hues dominated her runway sprinkled with floral festivities here and there. If anything, Minkoff has gone and followed the rest of the pack in bringing to life pattern-blocking as it has now been dubbed. Chic, bright and oh so festive. Just the way I like it. Definitely going to follow this designer hence forth!
