GUCCI BOSTON BAG for UNICEF
Giving back, shopping and good design. These are sets of words that you would barely think of putting together; that is until fashion powerhouse Gucci came up with its partnership with UNICEF 7 years back. For it’s recent collaboration with UNICEF to provide education for those in need both in Africa and Asia, Creative Director Frida Giannini designed a special edition of its classic and famed Boston Bag. And special it is in more ways than one!
Made out of luxurious micro Guccissima leather in a buttery soft shade of alabaster, it epitomizes classic elegance to the tee. The leather is of course crafted out of calfskin, which makes it durable for wear. One of it’s more special features would be the detachable shoulder strap, cuing flexibility in use – whether as a workbag or as a weekend shopping/chore bag. The iconic interlocking GG is beautifully embossed onto the leather by the House’s Florentine artisans, making it far more unique than it already is.
Here in Singapore, this piece will be retailing for SGD2410, and what makes it even more worth the purchase is the fact that 25% of which will be donated to the UNICEF Schools for Asia or Africa initiative. The bag will be available for a year – up until the 13th of May next – providing ample opportunity to get the most out of this special and timeless piece. I told you it was special!
