Season's Round Up #14: GIVENCHY FALL WINTER 2012 COUTURE COLLECTION
If you're looking for flair and whimsy from the ongoing FW2012 Couture Collections, there won't be any other house who has showcased it in such a unique way other than Givenchy. Taking inspiration from the amalgamation of gypsies and that of of the sixties [as per the presentation notes], Tisci's couture offering perfectly featured the importance of high quality craftsmanship, given the marriage of intricate embroidery, use of rich fabrics and play of deep colors that evoked strong & powerful emotions. Each piece looked as if it was made with painstaking precision and the highest degree of artisanal value. Apart from that, the way Tisci designed the cut of each one was so individual and unique, but at the same time if you look at all of them in it's entirety they worked well as a coherent collection. Overall it was a fierce & intense showcase that I think will take guts to pull-off; though the reward of being able to do so is that you'll definitely evoke an air of mystery and glamour as a modern woman. Anyone willing to take the risk?
