JEAN PAUL GAULTIER F/W'11 HAUTE COUTURE
John Galliano's departure from the House of Dior has created an impact in the world of fashion and more so, to the brand's haute couture collection. With the disappointing showing it had this F/W'11, we had to set our sights on other designers who brought to the front the right amount of whimsy, class and couture elegance Dior was fervently known under Galliano. Of interest would be the F/W'11 collection of Jean Paul Gaultier. Following a strong showing of inspired designs last Spring-Summer, JPG's F/W'11 designs were breathtaking - full of fancy yet surprisingly with pieces that are utilitarian and elegant. Hordes of trench coats, hooded parkas and billowy knee length skirts filled the show with glamour and delight.
Below are some more of the key pieces, of which I have fallen head over heels:
Don't you think they just scream haute couture delight?
There's also little something for the flashy and fasione-able men out there. Check out his Men's Haute Couture pieces. Simply delightful aren't they? A tad bit out there but you can pick up a piece or 2 from the collection, which wouldn't be too bad to spice up your everyday men's wear. I'm specifically drooling over the fur-lined gray trench coat and the tux-inspired coat.
I must say, the JPG Haute Couture Collection for F/W'11 kicked butt this season! Dior better play catch up otherwise, I think the haute couture crown will permanently belong to Jean Paul Gaultier for years to come.
