CELINE PHANTOM LUGGAGE TOTE
Fashion world’s latest IT bag – the Céline Luggage Tote – received an injection of Fall-Winter goodness with the upcoming release of the Phantom Luggage. When I first saw this design, I was actually averse to its bat like appearance. But as Céline released the photos of goodies to be launched this July, I fell in love all over again. The Phantom is packed with exaggerated features such as a wide flap – thus resembling bat wings and dangling zips. For those who prefer the original design’s more put together look, don’t fret. They’ve cleverly designed it to make sure that you can rein in the gaping sides with internal leather strips that are supposedly used to “tie in” the sides.
My beloved SA’s at Céline Takashimaya have informed me that the design will come in several versions – such as the one in stamped black crocodile leather [as seen above], another in plain gray leather with streaks of red [seen below] and of course one in divine suede.
My preference of the lot is the one in classy Olive Suede. It’s sheer luxury reincarnated. Rumor has it that the inside is also lined in suede [not too sure if this applies to all], adding a touch more of luxury to this already drool-worthy bag.
If memory serves me right, it will be priced at the same range as that of the original Luggage Totes (USD 2000-3200) depending on the size and for sure the material. As for those in Singapore, from what I know it will be priced anywhere from SGD 2800-3600.
If you want a piece of this sought after luxury, head on down to your closest Céline boutique and queue up for this. Rumor has it that wait lists for the Luggage Tote in areas such as New York are now longer than that of the Hermés Birkin. As for here in our hometown of Singapore, the lists have been populated since 3-4 months back, so best of luck!
