Neutrals have been long regarded in the fashion industry as a necessity. And why not? With neutrals you have the capacity to create any fashion palette you wish. Plus wearing an outfit with an overall neutral color palette just adds the right amount of posh and panache - more so during the winter season.

I've been in love with military green of late to the point that I've been treating it as a neutral. Well, if we were to be technical about it, it's essentially a darker shade of khaki right? And khaki is a neutral (LOL!).

Fall-winter '15 is no stranger in professing it's love for the military hue. Collections abound with statement pieces that are to die for - from the debut runway collection of Alessandro Michele at Gucci to Hedi Slimane's Saint Laurent rocker inspired looks or even that of Tom Ford. Lucky for me I was able to grab one statement jacket from Isabel Marant a few seasons back that had a material flexible enough for me to use in our quaint little sunny city.

If you're looking for a jacket with a similar silhouette to that of mine, I recommend the peplum jacket from Mc Queen or for something with a little more wintery pizzaz then the Altuzarra jacket would be your best bet. Personally I have my beady eyes on the Gucci statement coat with bee detailing from Michele's debut collection. Simply divine!

I recommend getting a piece that will take you through seasons - be it during windy fall, snowy winters or cool spring. I say invest in it for your respective wardrobes as the military hue is a sure fireball classic color you will never go wrong with it.
