Season's Round Up # 45: CARVEN SPRING-SUMMER 2013
Ever since they opened their first stand-alone store here in Singapore, I’ve been following Carven quite religiously and I must say I am liking and loving what I’m seeing thus far.
The Parisian fashion house is beginning to make waves in the fashion world and I think you all will see why. For SS2013, Guillaume Henry has crafted a collection that will catapult them into fashion world’s must have staples! We’ll see a lot of petite dresses embellished with the house’s trademark cut-out design, focusing this time around on the body’s clavicles in lieu of exposing midriffs and décolletage. I also adore the smart suits and jackets made out of tweed and felted wool. Oh! And I must say I am lusting after the buckled shoes and brogue-ish like pieces that came down the runway. A few of the other things I loved about the collection would be the expert interplay of color – brights and neutrals, patterns as well as the wide-spread use of collars to make seemingly plain outfits pop-up. I think this season has paved way for the label to go beyond its current cult following, and I say best be ready for Carven mania. It’s about to hit the streets of fashionopolis people and best be on your way before you get left behind!
